Why People Love Pine Avenue Smiles

Adara G.
Great experience, which is not easy to come by for a Dental office. The staff were all so kind and friendly. The Dr. is amazing. He took his time to talk to me about any issues I may have. He never rushed throughout the appointment and gave me many options as to what I wanted or needed. You can tell they really care about their patients and aren't trying to just rush you out. My cleaning was great and the hygienist was very thorough with cleaning.

Dr. Pan is the best! He was very thorough in explaining the options for my treatment and answered all my questions. His staff always greeted me and introduced themselves in our interactions, making sure that I was doing well throughout my visit. I’ve had pretty extensive dental work in the past and I must say, I didn’t feel any pain during my visit when Dr. Pan did my local anesthesia. I can’t recommend him enough!
JoAnne L.
I had 2 dental implants inserted in my jaw. It was very easy to my surprise. I did not feel any pain during the procedure and very little after. Dr. Pan is kind, warm, and explains the procedure very well. The team worked well together also. I fully recommend this dental practice to all.

Amazing experience overall. When I walked in Melissa greeted me with a smile and offered me everything but a steak from Burns. She was really sweet and welcoming. As I made my way back when called everyone greeted me with a smile. Linda took my xrays and reassured me that I was in good hands. The highlight of it all was Dr. Pan fixing my chipped tooth. He really took his time and it was a painless process. My tooth came out perfect with the exact shade of my other teeth. Can’t say enough about this place. If you’re in Oldsmar area this is definitely the place to visit. I traveled from Hernando county just for this experience. Thanks Pine Avenue Smiles!

Dr. Pan and Fam have a clear and concise method to dental care. I’ve experienced a few services in their portfolio and have been happy with how they explained and carried out the procedures. The team even helped with a previous dentist’s work that improved my situation immensely!
Juan O.
This office is almost 45 minutes away from me but I happily make the drive because I can’t imagine going to any other dentist. Dr. Pan and his staff are incredible personable, friendly, and knowledgeable. After just one visit, I left with a personalized plan on how to take care of my teeth at home that has vastly improved my dental health (cool night routine that isn’t super extensive!). Great office and staff would highly recommend!
Libby B.
What a delightful experience! Office staff was very friendly and professional. My hygienist, Kathy, was very personable and thorough, providing details about the health of my teeth and gums along the way. Dr. Pan was very thorough, letting me know the status of my dental issues and providing a reasonable timeline for my needed procedures. Overall, a very good experience for my first appointment. I look forward to my next visit.

The Importance of Preventive Dentistry

Preventive dentistry is the essential care designed to maintain healthy teeth and gums. It’s the practice of caring for your smile to keep it shining brightly today and to avoid serious and costly dental issues in the future. Through regular dental checkups, we can catch potential problems early, guide you with expert advice, and apply preventative measures that save you time, discomfort, and expense.

How Often Should I See the Dentist?

The American Dental Association recommends that adults and children should see the dentist at least twice a year for a checkup and cleaning. Some patients with specific dental needs may require more frequent visits. These regular checkups are a critical part of your oral care routine, ensuring that your smile remains at its brightest!

What Happens During a Complete Dental Checkup?

Professional Cleaning

Our gentle yet thorough professional cleanings rid your teeth of the plaque and tartar that daily brushing and flossing can miss. This process not only keeps your teeth and gums healthy but also gives your smile a polished glow.

Full Examination

Dr. Pan and our team conduct a detailed examination of your teeth, gums, and mouth, looking for signs of decay, gum disease, and other oral health issues. We take the time to examine each tooth and the health of your gums to ensure that every aspect of your oral health is addressed.

Digital X-rays

Using the latest in digital X-ray technology, we capture a detailed view of your dental structure. This step is crucial for identifying issues that aren’t visible during a standard examination, such as impacted teeth, bone decay, and between-the-teeth cavities.

Oral Cancer Screening

With a keen eye and advanced technology like VELscope, we perform oral cancer screenings as part of our checkups. This quick and painless process is vital for early detection, which can be lifesaving.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is a dental checkup important?

Dental checkups are vital for maintaining good oral hygiene. They allow dentists to diagnose and treat problems early, prevent new issues from developing, and keep your teeth and gums healthy.

How often should I get a dental checkup?

It is recommended that both adults and children visit the dentist every six months for a checkup and cleaning. Some individuals with specific dental issues may need to visit more frequently.

What can I expect during a professional teeth cleaning?

A professional cleaning involves removing plaque and tartar buildup, polishing your teeth, and flossing. This process helps prevent cavities, gingivitis, and periodontal disease.

Are digital X-rays safe, and why do I need them?

Digital X-rays are safe and expose patients to significantly less radiation than traditional X-rays. They are a crucial diagnostic tool that helps dentists detect issues that are not visible during a regular examination.

How does oral cancer screening during a checkup benefit me?

Oral cancer screening is a preventive measure to detect cancerous and precancerous conditions early when they are more easily treatable. Early detection can significantly increase the chances of successful treatment.

Can dental checkups help prevent bad breath?

Yes, regular dental checkups and cleanings can significantly help in preventing bad breath by removing the plaque and tartar that contribute to odor-causing bacteria in the mouth.

What should I do to prepare for a dental checkup?

To prepare for a dental checkup, continue to follow good oral hygiene practices, such as brushing and flossing. Additionally, make a list of any questions or concerns you may have for your dentist, including any sensitivity or pain you're experiencing.

Will I be screened for gum disease during my dental checkup?

Absolutely. During your dental checkup, your gums will be evaluated for any signs of gum disease. Early detection and treatment are crucial for maintaining healthy gums and preventing more serious conditions.
